TSL Adventures
summer day camp started in spirit fifteen years ago when its teachers Thomas Styles, Shameka Brown-Johnson, and Lynette Smith forged a professional relationship and friendship while attending the College of Saint Rose together. After several years of teaching and directing academic and social programs together the partners decided to give their most recent and highly touted Summer Arts & Education program, affiliated with Saint Helen’s School in Niskayuna, company status and venture out on their own. TSL Adventures is redefining the Summer Arts and Education program by adding weeks, children, and ideas. Rooted in the ideals of cooperative learning and peer support, TSL builds character, hampers competition, and excites its participants with unique activities, games, crafts, and educational opportunities led by an experienced team that together holds eight degrees, eight teaching certifications and over thirty years of combined experience.

What TSL has which many other summer camps and programs do not offer is experienced, driven, and enthusiastic teachers. Mr. Styles alone has worked a half dozen summer programs in the past ten years, including community center programs, and recreational club programs and has noted teenage staffers who often do not communicate or interact with children appropriately and spend more time socializing with peers than supervising or working with children, unstructured days with a lack of planning, and large numbers of children.

TSL promises a small caring summer program community at each site. TSL caps its programs with 35 children. A weekly schedule is provided on each Monday and provides a day by day, hour by hour break down of our week so that parents know exactly what kinds of activities will be done. TSL teachers work closely with children with every activity monitoring, directing, teaching, and playing right along the whole time. It is our biggest fun.

TSL offers science, reading, drama, cooperative games, cooking, singing, water play, walks for special treats, and a host of other fun and enriching activities all at one place. One thing is for sure, with our schedule and fixed location, parents will know where their children are and what their children are doing every second of the day.
