Choosing the best child care is an important decision as a child care program is almost like a second home for your child. Kids often spend most of their time at their child care facility, hence it is a prime duty of every parent to look for one that not just helps him in his overall growth and development, but also feels like his second home. A place where a child waits to get in on the next day is what makes a great child care facility. Since the child spends his first half of the day at the facility, (in most cases) it is likely for your child to take some rest after the lunch break. However these small kids feel sad as they are separated from their parents for long hours when they are at work. But once they get used to the new environment and start interacting with other children and caregivers at the facility, they start feeling comfortable. Usually once they feel safe, they start adopting their routine as the follow at home, like taking nap at childcare when it is their time to. The feeling of insecurity decreases and they sleep soundly for some time without their parents at the facility.
However, the main issue is should you be concerned if your child is not sleeping well at childcare. There are some reasons that you should really get concerned: Once you have found the right child care center for your child, you will have to disclose some essential information during the admission process so that they know more about your child and his health. This helps the caretakers to take proper care of your child and they also ensure your child’s safety. Moreover, child care centers have different classes for children from different age group. They will ask you about your child’s age as they create age-specific study plans. They would also ask you some personal questions about your child, like if he is potty-trained, his eating habits and his likes and dislikes, his sleeping hours etc. This will enable them to be friends with your child faster and moreover, they will easily make your child feel comfortable in the new set-up.
Besides the basic information, a child care center asks for the medical history of your child. They would want to know about their illnesses, allergies and infections. They would also ask if your child needs special attention and help. And if the child is under any special medication, they would want to know the timings and dosage of medicines prescribed by the pediatrician. However, disclosing this information definitely ensures the safety of your child during unexpected emergencies, but most parents still get confused if they should keep the child care center up to date with their child’s medical history. Most parents are always worried while sending their child into a child care center as they feel unsecured for their little ones to cope up with a different environment, new people, new location and new friends. To add up to their worries, bullying is the most feared incidence a child experiences at his child care center and the parents are well aware of the negative effects that might leave on the child’s mind forever. Bullying causes a tremendous amount of fear, panic and stress in young children. Generally a child who is bullied during his early developmental phase of life gets involved in drugs and abuse, criminal activities and they develop negative peer relationship.
A parent should know if the child is bullied at the child care center if he:
