2013 Summer Themes 2013

Welcome to TSL Adventures unique day camp experience. Though you are welcome to register for any number of weeks, TSL’s impact is most felt by children who experience multiple weeks with us. For those of you who are new to our family consider a minimum of two of weeks so we have time to build a relationship with your child and your family.

Week 1 Marvelous Me June 24-28
Campers will engage in a variety of games, crafts and activities that allow campers and staff to get to know each other more fully. This week will feature illustrative self portraits, our annual Balloon Questions activity and a camper show and tell day.

Week 2 TSL’s Friends Frenzy July 1-5
(no program July 4)
Campers will participate in a wide variety of games, crafts and activities that emphasize teamwork, cooperation and friendship building among members of our entire community.

Week 3 Color Wars July 8-12
Campers will be organized in specific group for the week. They will be encouraged to wear that color all week and engage in a variety of challenges to best their rival color groups. TSL is taking a small step back this week from its non-competitive framework to offer this glimpse at the world of competition team against team style.

Week 4 Knight Time July 15-19
Campers will explore medieval and mythical times including knights, dragons, castles and other period concepts through a variety of games, crafts, challenges and activities.

Week 5 Sweet Treat July 22-26
This should be a popular one among campers. All of our weekly games, projects and activities will be enjoyed by every sweet tooth in the camp as we play, make and eat lots of sweet things during this week.

Week 6 Wacky Water July 29-Aug 2
TSL’s returns to its annual water themed week this week this year with an array of water games and projects that explore water as a theme. Children should be dressed for wet this week!

Week 7 Trivia Week Aug 5-9
TSL staff have noted that children love a good trivia challenge. This theme will give campers an entire week of activities, projects and games centered around trivia. Anybody hear the jeopardy theme song playing?

Week 8 Carnival Aug 12-16
This fun-filled week of carnival games, projects and crafts returns in the cycle on demand and culminates with a Friday carnival to include games, cotton candy, bounce house, face painting and more.

Week 9 Bead It Aug 19-23
TSL jumps into the bead fray this week with projects, games and activities that involved beads of all shapes, sizes and colors.

Week 10 Weird Science Aug 26-30
Campers will explore a variety of hands on and messy science-based activities, games and projects with this classic theme. Slime, salt dough, and homemade ice cream highlight some of the fun campers will have in our last week at TSL for the summer.

TESTIMONIALS:

"I have to tell you how tremendously pleased I have been with the whole TSL experience. The kids really love going every day that they have attended, and they love telling me about all of the amazing and cool things they do and learn every day. They have made some wonderful new friends and have insisted from day one that they want to go to TSL every summer from now on. As a parent, I love knowing that my kids are happy and safe and learning every day when I can't be with them. It gives me such a peace of mind. Thank you for that. Keep up the great work!"

--Rebecca B.

"You guys have such a quality program that it eases some of the "working parent guilt." Is there some type of award we can nominate you for? It is a great model and more programs should follow suit!"

--Jennifer L.
